Leonardo wants Brazilian defender at AC Milan

In addition to Caldara, AC Milan technical director Leonardo is in search of another defender and this time his is looking in Brazil.

Leonardo Bonucci has expressed both to Gattuso and Leonardo his desire to leave Milan to return to Juventus and therefore the Rossoneri will have to do something in defense in the remaining last two weeks or so of the transfer market. Considering that Gustavo Gomez is also about to leave, in addition to the captain replacement that has been identified in Mattia Caldara, the Red and Blacks will have to find another quality defender and in these last hours the name of Rodrigo Caio has emerged as a potential target.

Tuttosport explains that the 24-year-old Brazilian with an Italian passport plays for Sao Paulo and was linked with the Rossoneri in the past under the management of Adriano Galliani. His price tag is about 15 million euros, but Leonardo aims to exploit the preferential channel with the Brazilian club and could also snatch him on loan with the right to buy based on a number of appearances.

For the last two years Rodrigo Caio has been a target of several European clubs especially after his breakthrough with the Brazilian national team in the 2016 Olympic Games (Gold medal). The Brazilian centre back has been approached in the last few weeks by two Italian teams, that is Napoli and Lazio. Now it is Milan’s turn that, given the probable departures of Bonucci and Gomez, will necessarily have to return on the market to complete the defensive department.
