Rijeka-Milan, probable lineups

Today AC Milan close the group stage with an away match in Croatia while new coach Gennaro Gattuso makes his Europa League debut.

A few minutes ago AC Milan, through its official website, published the 19 players list called up by boss Gattuso for tomorrow’s last Europa League match in Group D against Rijeka.

In the list there are missing many starters like Jesus Suso, Giacomo Bonaventura, Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez, Gianluigi Donnarumma and centre forward Nikola Kalinic. The rossoneri captain Leonardo Bonucci is present on the list but he is not expected to play. In fact, according to Sky Sport and Premium Sport in the middle of the three centre back defense there should be the seasonal debut of Gabriel Paletta. The Argentine has already worked with Gennaro Gattuso in the Primavera.

But the presence of the 31 year old defender may not be the only novelty in the starting eleven tomorrow. Marco Storari is favorite over Antonio Donnarumma. In midfield, along with Lucas Biglia and Manuel Locatelli, should play the young Nicolo Zanellato. It will therefore be a 3-5-2 lineup and not a 3-4-3 as in the last Serie A match: in attack, as usual in Europa League, the duo Patrick Cutrone-Andre Silva is expected to star. In Kalinic’s absence, Gattuso has called up Primavera striker Riccardo Forte to join the team.

AC Milan (3-5-2): Storari; Zapata, Paletta, Romagnoli; Calabria, Locatelli, Biglia, Zanellato, Antonelli; Cutrone, Andre Silva.
