Sky: AC Milan interested in Man City defender

AC Milan are interested in Manchester City centre back Nathan Ake according to a report from Sky Sport.

AC Milan continue to work for the signing of a new centre back. Netherlands star Sven Botman is the Rossoneri’s top pick but Lille’s asking price of 30 million euros has forced AC Milan to look around for alternative names if negotiations break down.

According to Sky Sport, the Rossoneri are looking in the Premier League just like they did last January when the signed Fikayo Tomori initially on loan. AC Milan are interested in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake reports journalist Alessandro Sugoni.

Ake joined Manchester City two years ago but has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter with the Premier League champions. A hamstring injury reduced his appearances with City to just 13 last season.

This season Nathan Ake has already made 14 appearances scoring 2 goals along the way. However, the 26-year-old Netherlands international remains a second choice with Pep Guardiola preferring more the likes of Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and John Stones.

In the summer of 2020, Manchester City spent a transfer fee of 45 million euros to snatch Ake from Bournemouth. His current market value is prohibitive for the Rossoneri unless City are open to a loan move. Chelsea’s Malang Sarr, Eric Bailly of United and Arsenal’s Pablo Mari are the other Premier League names on AC Milan radar reports Sky.
